Project Management Intern

General Description
Arco is seeking a qualified Project Management Intern to assist our team. Candidates
are to have experience in the residential construction industry, be detailed-oriented,
and display excellent verbal and written communication skills. The hired candidate will
assist with the daily management, coordination, supervision, and successful completion
of all projects and in adherence of each project’s scope. This position can be full- or
part-time. This is a paid internship with a rate of $15-$20/hour.

 

Specific Tasks and Duties
• Assist with the management, supervision, scheduling, and relationship maintenance of subcontractors

• Assist with the integration between office departments to efficiently coordinate and communicate
• Assist with the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of each project’s budget
• Assist with Contract Administration including the preparation and execution of subcontractor agreements
• Assist with the acquisition of permits and licenses, as required, in a timely manner
• Understand safety procedures and protocols at each site
• Assist the construction team’s collaboration with each project’s design team to ensure timelines are met within established budgets
• Assist with identifying errors and omissions from subcontractor’s work and corrects them in a timely manner
• Assist with reviewing change orders to be approved by Senior Project Management
• Assist with communicating with the design team to ensure that each project is completed on time and on budget
• Assist with the acquisition and maintenance of “as-built” documents to track changes to contract documents during construction of each project
• Assist with all project-related documents, files, and specification books
• Assist with keeping meeting minute notes and daily notes per project
• Assist with the management of each “punch-list” as well as warranty review and procurement for accuracy and completion
• Stay up-to-date and complies with all construction-related federal, state, and local legal requirements as applicable

 

Minimum Requirements
• Currently pursuing bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or similar field.
• 0-2 years’ proven experience as a Site Superintendent at construction sites including OSHA 10 and other applicable certifications.
• Working proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites.
• Working knowledge of maintaining budgets, document control and project scheduling.
• Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCad, required.
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (e.g., technology, equipment, methods).
• Experience with Mavenlink, preferred.
• Thorough working knowledge of all aspects of construction (e.g., technology, equipment, methods, common building materials, tools and techniques)
• Access to independently travel to jobsites around Brookline, Newton and the Greater Boston area is required.
